Kenny Cox is a cold plunge guy.

He has been plunging for years, and the way he sees it, a sauna goes with the cold. Plenty of his friends own one. What finally pushed him was a close friend who had a New Primitive sauna installed at his new home. “I was just convinced I wanted to be in the market,” Kenny told us.

We sat down with him in Heber, Utah, on the day we delivered his sauna. It was sitting right behind us.

The one that almost got away

Cole was his first phone call. But Kenny kept looking. He filled out questionnaires online, took calls from other builders, and in the end he chose a competitor.

“I don’t think that you ever really knew this,” he said, “but I decided that I was going a different direction.”

Then Cole called back.

“More so than just being good with follow-up and good with communication, you just showed a lot of confidence in your product. He promised me that I’d have a good experience, that I would enjoy the outcome.”Kenny

Kenny works in sales, so he noticed. “I really appreciated that he stayed on it, that he showed the confidence that I needed as a consumer to buy it.”

“And now that the product’s here, and I’m seeing it with my own eyes, I couldn’t be more excited and happier that I decided to go with New Primitive.”

A spot that was waiting

A sauna was never part of the plan when the Coxes built their home. But the corner where it now sits already had his cold plunge on one side, a hot tub on the other and a fire pit in the middle.

“Maybe it’s just kind of meant to be,” he said. “This part of our property is just our zen space.”

They live on six acres, with chickens, horses and trees. From the sauna he can look out at Mount Timpanogos, across the horse pasture or into the trees.

“Having a sauna in this location, with our ability to look out at Mount Timpanogos or see into the horse pasture or look into the trees, it just makes perfect sense.”Kenny
