Where it goes

Most people put it in the cold plunge room. It works anywhere in the house though: bedroom, bathroom, home gym, beside the treadmill.

Not the hot room. The panel is rated to 45°C and 30 to 65 percent humidity, and it is not waterproof, so sauna heat is outside what it is built for.

How you run it

Stand 6 to 12 inches away for 2 to 15 minutes, 2 to 4 times a week. Eleven programmes come preset, so there is nothing to work out on day one.

Plugs into a standard outlet. Draws 1050W at full output.

Getting it up

The standard wall mount is in the box and goes up with a drill and a stud finder. Preorder the stand version instead if you would rather move it between rooms.

We don’t offer installation. The panel is a self-install.

§ 03How it works03 / 05

Two wavelengths. One engine.

Red light and near-infrared reach the body at different depths, and both push the same engine: the mitochondria. They make more ATP, the cell's energy currency. More energy, faster repair. The two we lean on, 660nm and 850nm, are the most studied of the set.

Red · 660nm

Absorbed in the first couple of centimeters of tissue, where it reaches the skin and surface. It is the wavelength most studied for skin, where research points to collagen and tone over time.

Near-infrared · 850nm

Penetrates deeper, into muscle and joint. It is the wavelength most often studied for recovery, soreness and stiffness.

850nm

Recovery

Owners use it after training, between rounds. Studies on muscle recovery are early but encouraging.

660nm

Circulation

Some studies suggest red light may support blood flow. Research is ongoing.

850nm

Inflammation

Research on near-infrared and inflammation is ongoing, with some studies suggesting less soreness after hard days.

660nm

Skin

Red wavelengths are widely studied for skin, with research suggesting support for collagen and texture.

850nm

Pain & stiffness

Many owners say stiff joints feel easier after a session. It is not a treatment for any condition.

660 + 850nm

Cellular health

Studies suggest red and near-infrared light interact with the mitochondria, the part of the cell that makes energy.

§ 05Before you order05 / 05

Questions worth asking.

Do I need a New Primitive sauna to use it?

No. It is the same panel we fit in the Thermal Suite, sold on its own. In a suite it goes in the plunge room rather than the hot room, and on its own it runs from a standard outlet, so any room in the house works.

How is this different from a cheaper panel?

Seven channels rather than one or two, each controllable from 1 to 100 percent, across 600 five-watt LEDs at full-body size. It is the only panel we will spec into a build.

Do I need eye protection?

A pair comes in the box, and you want it any time the panel is pointed at your face. Keep at least four inches between the lens surface and skin at any session length.

How do I use the code?

Enter CARA on the checkout page and ten percent comes off the panel. The code is checked there before the discount lands, so the price you see is the price you pay.

When does it ship?

Preorders are filled in the order they are placed. The current window is within 60 days of the day you order, and we email tracking the day it leaves. Shipping is included to the US and Canada.

Can I return it?

Unopened panels can go back within 30 days of delivery. The 3-year manufacturer warranty covers faults after that.
